Feminity

In Rachana's Femininity Series, she depicts a form of shifting houses as a symbol of change and confinement. The work mirrors how deep-rooted traditions shape women’s lives, even as they grow beyond them. The work reflects how society’s deep-rooted ideas about gender shape our sense of space and identity. Rachana’s houses are not just structures; they make us think about how society has long connected women with the idea of home and how that connection can be seen, questioned, and reimagined through art. This dynamic composition bursts with energy, while the rich layering and textured details invite closer inspection and admiration.

I explore femininity through architectural forms, using the house as both a symbol and a challenge. My work reflects how society has long associated women with the domestic sphere (the caretaker, the nurturer) and transforms that idea into a visual dialogue. By illustrating houses in diverse, unconventional shapes, I portrays women breaking free from the boundaries of concrete walls and societal expectations. My art is not a reinforcement of stereotypes, but a mirror that compels viewers to confront them.
