Feminity

In Rachana Femininity Series, the forms of shifting houses are used as symbols of change and confinement. The work mirrors how deep-rooted traditions shape women’s lives, even as they grow beyond them. The work reflects how society’s deep-rooted ideas about gender shape our sense of space and identity. Rachana’s houses are not just structures; they make us think about how society has long connected women with the idea of home and how that connection can be seen, questioned, and reimagined through art.

I explore femininity through architectural forms, using the house as both a symbol and a challenge. My work reflects how society has long associated women with the domestic sphere (the caretaker, the nurturer) and transforms that idea into a visual dialogue. By illustrating houses in diverse, unconventional shapes, I portrays women breaking free from the boundaries of concrete walls and societal expectations. My art is not a reinforcement of stereotypes, but a mirror that compels viewers to confront them.
